1998-2002 4L60E tail housing (6-bolt mounting style) conversion kit with 4.56 rear-axle ratio and F70-14 tire with a 26.2 overall tire height.







This kit is designed to convert a 1998-2002 4L60E transmission to a mechanical speedometer while retaining the the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) system. The kit includes a tail housing, billet adapter plate, new speedometer sleeve with new gear, new VSS sensor, new reluctor/drive gear bushing, and installation hardware. Use # TS972 if your tire and gear ratio combination is not listed.

Image is representative. This housing will have provision for transmission mount on the bottom of the housing as most 1997-2002 4L60E have no mount on the transmission case. If one of the other housings pictured, with no mount or torque arm (82-02 F-body) is needed, please call for special order.

NOTE: For metric tires use the following formula:
(2 X ((Section Width X Aspect Ratio) / 2540)) + Rim Diameter

If the housing on your transmission uses 4 bolts to mount to the transmission case it is the 1993-1997 style.

Also included but not pictured is an adapter plate for mounting this 4 bolt housing to a 6 bolt transmission case.
