Glasstek fiberglass hood for 1971-1972 GTO/LeMans models with the Endura option (body-colored urethane front bumper).
We offer this heavyweight fiberglass hood which has the same 50+ lb. heft as the steel version. It features full fiberglass framing for extra rigidity. The underside does not appear original due to the visible glass fibers, but the framing is correct, permitting Ram Air equipment to be used (your Ram Air pan can act as a template to drill mounting holes). There are depressions in the hood that can be opened out to provide holes for both the hood scoop and the cowl vents. This hood bolts on the same as the original, but requires lighter tension hood springs (# BB4). You will also need fiberglass hood pin bezels (part # A0135F), hood pin bolts (# J7172), hood pins (# 535N) and approximately 33" of hood pin cable (not currently available).
NOTE: Due to the tight spacing of the cowl vents and the nature of fiberglass there is a possibility of damaging the hood if you open these vents. We recommend leaving them closed and opening up the hood scoop vents as this will cause only a slight decrease in airflow through the passenger compartment. This decrease will probably not be noticeable. Due to the size of this product, it is shipped by truck.
