The self adjust hardware conversion kit replaces the manual adjust hardware with modern, automatically adjusting hardware, which keeps your brakes adjusted properly, resulting in smoother, quicker operation when you apply the brakes, a firmer pedal at all times, and greatly reduces or eliminates the brakes pulling on one side or the other.
The factory, manual adjust brakes require the owner to use a brake spoon tool and manual adjust the star wheel, moving the shoes closer to the drum so they contact quicker and more firmly. This adjustment is required frequently. This kit converts your factory drum brake hardware from manual-adjusting brakes to self-adjust brakes, keeping the drum brakes automatically adjusted so you have less free play and pedal travel when applying the brakes.
