Mustang CobraJet #1 Rolls Off Assembly Line Minimize

New car sales might not be very good right now, but there's no denying there's some pretty cool stuff being built by the manufacturers currently. A good example is the new Mustang FR500CJ Cobra Jet - which is nothing less than a full-on factory drag racer.

Ford Racing has been building factory road race cars from the current Mustang platform for a few years now. The CobraJet is their latest racer, and it's designed for good, old-fashioned drag racing. The new CJ gets a hot-rodded 5.4 DOHC engine, long-tube headers, a 9" rear axle, roll cage, slicks, etc.

With Chrysler showing off their Super Stock Challenger last year, and committing to building the Competition version for drag racing, things are heating up in the pony car world. Hmmm, think a new Camaro strip weapon will be next?

We snagged this from Jalopnik - be sure to visit their page for more info...
