CNN Comments on the Changes Facing the OEMs Minimize

As any red-blooded car enthusiast knows, the OEMs (GM, Chrysler, Ford) are currently having a tough time. Last year's run-up in fuel prices battered the truck and SUV-heavy product lines from the Detroit manufacturers, and now the general slowing of the economy has formed a "perfect storm" of trouble for the domestic industry.

We're not going to delve into the politics of bailouts and the like, but we do want to pass on this video from CNN that talks a bit about the domestic industry's muscle car heritage, and how the days of (new) American muscle are pretty much over. In our view, automotive enthusiasts will always demand good performance from their vehicles, but certainly we can all agree having a fuel efficient daily driver or parts chaser is not a bad idea. Of course, we also want really fast and powerful toys to play with, and we're always going to need tow vehicles with the ability to haul our toys around. Car enthusiasts are a hearty breed, and neither economic cycles nor fuel price spikes are going to keep any of us from pursuing our passion for automobiles. As we've always said, it's more than a hobby, it's a lifestyle.

And rest assured YearOne will be providing the parts, accessories and services you need to enjoy classic American performance vehicles long into the future.

Here's the link to the CNN video.
