Is it only on 77 Trans Am's or will 78's also be used for this car and if so, what is the price difference if we supplied our own verified Trans Am's for a conversion?

Actually if you read all the specs they use ALL Trans Ams from 1977-1981. 

So a 1978 TA would work out just fine.
