Hey everyone,

The car is awesome, what is funny is I have been building my 81TA to these similar designs minus the body mods.

I was going to install the LSx engine but went with the LT1, So your whole design to the BRE is right up my alley.

Was wondering when someone was going to design the snowflake into a 17 or 18.  Great job from an awesome company,

keep up the great work and good luck!!  The only thing I would've liked would be more gold trimming(stripes).

Hey there,

I weas initially thinking the same thing about the striping ubt if you look at the whole package they were trying to convey with the car, the gold striping might have actually detracted from the good look. I am going to work on a different SE-style stripe package that follows along with the more "stealth" look of this TA.

I'll post pics of my progress as it unfolds...

My Take
 (United States)

I saw the ad for this car in the October 07 DuPont Registry and after visiting the site I can offer my take on this car.

Thanks for showing a side-by-side comparison to an original TA that this car was modeled after.  However, this comparison has shown me that you messed up the BRE.

First what I like, is anytime you take a clic car and update the drivetrain and do a frame-off restoration.  Whether it's an ICON Toyota FJ Cruiser or an Eleanor Mustang, these updates make these cars more fun to drive.  This matters for people that don't show cars, just drive 'em.  So great job there.  I also think updating the interior with things like a modern stereo/speakers and navigation, bucket seats and 3 or 4 point belts are also great.

What I don't like about this car and the same goes for the Eleanor Shelby Mustangs is when the exterior is changed.  I noticed the lower ride height and larger, lower profile tires... I'm sure this means better performance but this really changes the flavor of the car.  It's no longer a Bandit car!  I want the white-lettered Good Years on high sidewall tires with the original ride height.

I also don't like the limo tint.  I'm not a fan of tinted windows on cars, and it doesn't look good on a sports car of any kind.  Limo tints on sporty cars are just a bad idea, poor taste there, certainly not consistent with performance.  You don't want any of your vision compromised!  But more so, it's just plain ugly.  Leave tints on limos and SUV's and sedans.  But leave sports coupes alone.

The other touches are fine, not too offending.  I did notice the smaller Firebird, the deletion of the Pontiac symbol on the hood, and updated headlights.  I would have preferred if all of this was left alone but it's not as off-putting as the other 2 things I mentioned.  I think in general, the lowered ride height and tint just doesn't match up well with muscle cars of the 60's and 70's.  Imagine a lowered '68 Shelby Mustang?  It wouldn't look good, but maybe you think it does and this is just MHO...

That being said, this car will not be the next $129,000 that I spend.  And that's too bad, because it's a great license.  I'm sure you will sell all of them in no time at all.

Thanks for all the complements.  I love the stripes on the original SE, but we decided to leave them off for a more updated look.
