There were 3 oringinal movie cars.  All of them were trashed. The Director said in one interview that by the end they were picking parts from all 3 to attempt to make a running car.  None are in existence anymore

Actually, there are two originals that were used in hero glam shots and never in stunts that are still in prestine shape although one has more miles...  Burt owns both of them.  One is in his museum in Florida (not sure if public) and the other he and his son drive around L.A.  Watch the Burt Reynolds video on Year One's Bandit minisite...

BTW. the Hooper cars also built by Hal Needham for Burt and Jan Michael Vincent faired better through the 80's.  I owned one 84-87, wish I still had it.  Guy I sold it to wrecked it within 6 months.

Other than my Corvettes, the only other car I've (and would ever) owned.  Although the revamped Camaro is pretty tempting.  Surely GM has plans for the Trans Am... I'm sure we haven't seen the last of that badge from them..   *And yea I may have to drive my kids in an SUV but my wife owns it :-)))  not me...

Very cool---to have owned one of the HOOPER T/A's. Sometimes you never know what you have  until its gone.
