Shaker for a 400?
 (United States)
QuoteReply
My father and I bought a 78 TA back in the spring of 07. We were stuck on the shaker, we couldn't find one that fit. I have a 6.6 400p. Either it was too high or too low. My father died and i'm a 19 year old kid restoring a father/son project by myself now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for contacting us. Our sympathies on the ping of your father. If you notice, the shakers sat slightly differently on Olds powered cars versus Pontiac powered cars - with the Olds shaker being slightly lower in relation to the hood. If the intake manifold and carb is stock on your 400, you should be able to get any '77-79 shaker from a Pontiac-powered car, and it should work. We do not offer the shakers since they are no longer available new. When the intake and/or carb is changed, this will often change the height of the shaker as well.

Good luck with the car,

Any chance YearOne is planning to repop those in the future?  That would be nice.

I have not bought from this guy but he does make a slightly taller version of the shaker called the "Dude Scoop".
