Accomplishments: Two-time Indy 500 winner; successful racing career spanned four decades and resulted in induction into five halls of fame, including Indianapolis and Talladega. Responsible for the construction of Indianapolis Raceway Park and plans to open a motorplex in Rialto, Calif. Did color commentary for racing on ABCs Wide World of Sports in the 1970s.
Automotive Introduction: Worked at fathers wrecking yard at age 12. Built first car, a 1926 Ford Model "T" Roadster, from the ground up at age 14.

Hobbies: Organizing road races in the western U.S., visiting with his five children and six grandchildren.

Favorite Movie: "Winning" with Paul Newman. Rodger was Technical Director of the film.
Dream Cars: All of his race cars built by A.J. Watson were dream cars, especially the main event-winning midget race car he drove for Vic Edelbrock at Hollywood, Californias Gilmour Stadium in 1950.
