Accomplishments: • Two-time Indy 500 winner; successful racing career spanned four decades and resulted in induction into five halls of fame, including Indianapolis and Talladega. • Responsible for the construction of Indianapolis Raceway Park and plans to open a motorplex in Rialto, Calif. • Did color commentary for racing on ABC’s Wide World of Sports in the 1970s.

Automotive Introduction: Worked at father’s wrecking yard at age 12. Built first car, a 1926 Ford Model "T" Roadster, from the ground up at age 14.

Hobbies: Organizing road races in the western U.S., visiting with his five children and six grandchildren.
Favorite Movie: "Winning" with Paul Newman. Rodger was Technical Director of the film.

Dream Cars: All of his race cars built by A.J. Watson were dream cars, especially the main event-winning midget race car he drove for Vic Edelbrock at Hollywood, California’s Gilmour Stadium in 1950.
