Year One Customer Car Show
1970 GTO and 1986 LeMans

I’ve wanted a ‘70 Goat since 1970 and finally got one 27 years later! This car was built and sold in California. When the owner passed away, his wife sold it to a GTO fan in Santa Barbara around 1988. I found it on the internet and brought it to Houston in August of 1995. This ‘70 Goat is an all-original Palomino Copper hardtop with saddle interior, TH-400 automatic, A/C, cruise, rally clock, and a ‘69 Judge stripe option. My kids called her Poly because of the color and the name stuck. It doesn't drip, doesn't blow smoke. Sweet! Hmmm, wonder how a hood tach would look?

Since the GTO was in better shape than we were expecting to get, we needed a foul-weather driver. I found this ‘68 LeMans on the side of the road and bought it for a song. The kids said Poly needed to have an older brother, and the name Otis sounded like the right name, so Otis it is. He’s a hardtop with a 350, Holly carb, Edelbrock manifold, headers, powerglide, and A/C (it works!). The interior is Ivy Gold and he’s going to get a new hood and will be painted "racing yellow" sometime next year. Unlike Poly, he is not all original.
