1968 GTO
Extent of Restoration: Complete frame-off restoration.
Special Comments: After 5 years, I have finally finished my GTO. It was a complete restoration, frame off. I purchased the car in May of 1974 with 72,000 miles on it. I drove it daily for 2 years and then mostly on weekends after that. The body was painted in pieces over about a 2 year time. My buddy, Cliff Harper, from Springfield, Ohio, went with me twenty-four years ago to pick the car up when I bought it. He has painted it twice before, and this time carried the pieces back to Ohio, a few at a time, to paint them and then return them. We painted the quarters, roof, and of course the undercarriage and frame, here in the garage at the house.
The car is a wt code 400 c.i.d. engine, 350 hp, 4-speed trans, and all black. Options include rally clock, console, and power steering.
